Conference Stipends
The Northeast Region is pleased to offer a scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to a Northeast Region member of the Association who is working in the profession of school planning and design.  The funds shall be used to attend the Northeast Regional Conference or the A4LE LearningSCAPES Conference. The purpose of this scholarship is to expand the mission of A4LE by making important conference information available to persons who might not otherwise be able to attend.

This scholarship is intended to support and encourage persons who work towards high quality outcomes for public school planning, design, and construction through gaining exposure to best practices in community engagement, school facility planning, contemporary design principles and practice, and/or effective construction methods and networking with other school facilities planning and design professionals.

For consideration, a candidate must:

1.     Be a member of the Association at the time of application, and be actively working on school planning and design projects and issues. Scholarship candidates may be design professionals, school planners, industry partners, school district employees, and school board/committee – anyone who is currently engaged in planning, designing, and constructing learning environments.

2.     Commit to attending and actively participating in program sessions for the entire conference. Special social events outside of the regular conference program are optional (costs of such events are not funded by this scholarship).

3.  Share information learned and ideas gathered at the conference by making presentations to peers(eg. staff meetings) and school boards/committees, writing newsletter or website articles, or other good faith efforts to share the conference benefits with other decision-makers in the district or agency, and to others in the Association at the local level.

4. Scholarship candidate should be willing to write a brief article about the conference and their experience for the regional newsletter upon their return.
