About Agency Showcase

The Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) Conference will be held January 18-20, 2018 at the Hilton Chicago. The event is the state’s largest park and recreation conference bringing together more than 4200 professionals and over 300 industry exhibitors.
Increasingly more Illinois recreation agencies are creating and fostering marketing departments staffed by professionals with experience and credentials in marketing, public relations, advertising, and related fields. The annual Agency Showcase is a conference tradition that brings together those in recreation and conservation industries and spotlights bright ideas exhibited by these agencies. This is a friendly competition between agencies across the state, allowing them to share best practices, unique designs, and impactful communication materials.

We are looking to recognize an outstanding marketing efforts in each category of the Agency Showcase. The categories are as follows: Brochure Series, Electronic Communication, Integrated Photography, Large Format Marketing, Logo Design, Marketing Campaign, Media Campaign, Paid Advertisement, Print Communication, Social Media, Website, Promotional Item, and Showcase Display. We are looking for 2-3 judges for each category to rate and critique submissions. As you can see, the categories cover a wide range of talent so we are hoping to pull judges from colleges, universities, businesses, and associations. 

The 2018 Agency Showcase will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018. The task force for the Agency Showcase would be honored to have you on board as a judge. There are 39 spots for judges this year.

As a judge you would receive:
-Complimentary parking
-Networking opportunities
-Light breakfast and lunch
-A special “Thank you” reception Thursday afternoon/evening
-Admission to the educational sessions, exhibit booths, and workshops on either Friday, January 19 or Saturday, January 20.

Thank you! Judges will receive confirmation within 5 business days of the Agency Showcase Team receiving the completed application.  An event reminder and detailed itinerary will be sent to all judges by January 10.

• Please arrive to check in by 8:45 a.m. on January 18
• Judges meeting will take place at 9:15 a.m.
• Judging takes place Thursday, January 18 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
• Lunch served 12:30-1:30 p.m.
• Reception begins at 3:30 p.m.
