2016 Summer Institute Series - Registration of Interest

Description of 2016 Summer Institute Series Course Options

The DARS Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) has partnered with various entities to offer several 'Summer Institute' trainings this year!  Each training in the Summer Institute Series consists of intensive, week-long skill building workshops, with a specific target audience. 
 
At this time, DHHS plans to sponsor the following three options in the 2016 Summer Institute Series:

 San Antonio Summer Institute: May 29 - June 3, 2016
  • Participant criteria: pre-certified interpreters who have (1) already passed the Test of English Proficiency (TEP), and (2) have come close, but not yet passed the BEI Basic (score between 44 and 65)
 Fort Worth Summer Institute: August 7 - 12, 2016
  • Participant criteria: pre-certified interpreters who have (1) already passed the Test of English Proficiency (TEP), and (2) taken, but not yet passed, the BEI Basic (score between 44 and 65)
Houston Summer Institute: August 7 - 11, 2016
  • Participant criteria: pre-certified interpreters who have either (1) graduated from an ITP program and taken the TEP, OR (2) taken, but not yet passed, the BEI Basic (score between 44 and 70)

*PLEASE NOTE: *Participants are responsible for own arrangements and expenses related to transportation, lodging, meals, incidentals, etc.  *Dates are subject to change.
 
Once you have completed this registration of interest, a DHHS staff member will evaluate your eligibility and will contact you with more information.
