The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) is seeking presenters for its 20th Annual Safety and Health Conference, the Texas Safety Summit, which will be held on August 8-10, 2016 in Austin. This conference is being held in cooperation with the University of Texas at Arlington, Division for Enterprise Development Conference and Event Management (UT Arlington-CEM).

Presentations should improve knowledge and understanding of occupational safety and health issues that Texas employers face, as well as provide attendees practical information that they can implement in their workplaces to improve safety outcomes. The Texas Safety Summit will have four pre-conference sessions (three hours each) and approximately 25 one-hour breakout sessions over the course of the conference.  Breakout session topics that require more than one hour to present may be scheduled as two-part sessions.  All selected presenters will receive free admission to the 2016 Texas Safety Summit.  The deadline to submit your topic is June 17, 2016.

See what attendees said about last year’s conference:

“Very informative! Presenters were knowledgeable and interesting. I plan to take much of this great information back to my department. I appreciate all the hard work, planning and collaboration that went into this conference, it was great!” Sharon, SAS Shoemakers

“This was my second year attending the summit; I thought that this year’s event was terrific including the speakers, the topics and the overall flow.”  Kim, Markel FirstComp Insurance

“Great experience – several sessions provided a unique perspective and/or a focused assessment of specific elements rather than a general overview of regulation and procedures. Active shooter and security presentations were excellent with practical information and real-life examples. Was a very good variety of topics.” Don , AIG
