"With our industry changing and facing many challenges ahead of us, I feel it is important to maintain involvement on both the local, state and national levels, I want to be an active participant in our professional organization and help to contribute to its advancement in a positive way.
The DME industry is experiencing many challenges currently especially changes to home mechanical ventilation patient access and reimbursement. Since this past October I have been immersed in writing letters, making calls to various legislators and sitting on various committees throughout the region all aimed at bringing awareness to these changes and the impact these changes have on the lives of our patients. I have been helping to compile data in the hope of preserving and improving access to home ventilation for our patients.
My passion is education, knowledge is power and the more we can educate our
communities, fellow colleagues, government agencies and patients the more we can hope to secure our professional futures, bring awareness to where it is needed and continually strive to improve the quality of care our patients receive."
