Boston Public Schools 2020 Arts Education Survey for School Leaders

Survey

Thank you in advance for taking the time to fill in the 2020-2021 BPS Arts Education survey. While this survey has taken place every fall for the past 13 years, given the pressures and uncertainty around this school year, we have significantly shortened the survey. The survey should take you approximately 10 minutes to complete, providing answers to the best of your knowledge for your entire school. The information gathered will be available to you, potential partners, funders, and administrators which can help to increase support for more arts education in BPS.

For the purpose of this survey, it is important to understand how we define arts education:

ARTS: Includes the following disciplines: Visual Art, Instrumental and Choral Music, Dance, Theatre, Media Arts, Spoken Word.

The survey includes questions that will inform your school’s School Arts Index, a tool developed with the input of school leaders, teachers, and arts partners, for schools to measure the arts offerings in their buildings. You can view the School Arts Index framework for preK-8 schools and high schools by clicking here: BPS School Arts Index.

When you complete the survey by December 18, your school's name will be placed in a raffle. Four raffle-winning schools will receive $500 to be used for art supplies or arts-related field trips. If you have any questions or need any help with the survey, please contact Derek Lin at lin@edvestors.org or call him at 617-585-5451. In addition you can contact Julia Gittleman at Julia@MGAConsultants.com or by calling her at 617-216-8164. Thank you for your continued support of arts education, especially during this time.
