The Western New England University Alumni Association Board of Directors is pleased to open the application period for our fall 2019 Alumni Association Grants. The purpose of this initiative is to offer funding to students, alumni, and members of the University community that support student programs, student organization initiatives, Alumni Association initiatives, and/or student and alumni athletics. Over the past eleven years, the Alumni Association has awarded more than $466,000 through hundreds of grants, and we are thrilled to be able to support the University community in this way. Applications in this cycle will be accepted until October 21, 2019, at 4:00 PM. Please carefully review these instructions to ensure your proposal is eligible:
  • Applicants must be either a student, alumnus/na, staff, or faculty member of Western New England University.
  • The proposed program or initiative must be related to the stated purpose of the Grants Program and must describe how it will address the mission and values of the Alumni Association.
  • Eligible program dates for this cycle are November 15, 2019 – June 30, 2020. If your program will take place outside of this timeline, please contact Alyra Donisvitch at to inquire about off-cycle funding opportunities.
  • Certain expenses are ineligible for funding, including travel, lodging, and per diems/individual meals. Applicants should include these in the detailed budget if applicable, but list them in the specified rows for ineligible expenses.
  • Historically, the Committee has not provided funding for food and beverage. However, decisions about food and beverage expenses will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If you are requesting funding for food or beverage as an event or program expense, please indicate how the expense is an essential component of the program.
  • Each applicant or organization may submit one application per grant cycle with funding requests not to exceed $2,500. Funding decisions including the amount of the award is at the discretion of the Grants Committee.
  • Grant recipients are required to provide a written final report to the Alumni Association Board of Directors detailing the outcomes of the project and its impact on the University, students, or alumni. Some recipients may be asked to make a presentation to the Alumni Board and/or Grants Committee.
