1. Techie Camp Student Application

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL LISTED CAMPS ARE ON A WAITLIST.

With support from the Nordson Corporation Foundation, TECH CORPS will implement its Techie Camp® program with 48 middle school students during the summer of 2017.

Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long summer experience designed specifically for elementary and middle school students. The goal of Techie Camp is to engage students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology as well as provide opportunities for them to express their imaginations.

Each camp is comprised of 16 students and lead by two TECH CORPS Instructors.
Families will be responsible for transportation and lunch/two snacks/beverages.
Camps will be held at Dekalb County Libraries.

Middle School Programming
Description: Using Unity, students will learn the basic concepts of programming through the creation of video games and interactive stories.
Date: July 10th-14th
Time: 9:00AM - 4:00PM
Location: Stonecrest Library, 3123 Klondike Road, Lithonia, GA 30038
Grade Band: Rising 6th-8th grades
 
Middle School Programming

Date: July 17th-21st
Time: 9:00AM - 4:00PM
Location: Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library, 5234 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA 30084
Grade Band: Rising 6th-8th grades

Middle School Programming

Location: Salem-Panola Library, 5137 Salem Road, Lithonia, GA 30083
Grade Band: Rising 6th-8th grades

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS ONLY OPEN TO STUDENTS WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
-Will be enrolled in the 6th-8th grade in the Fall of 2017.

Student Selection Process:

Students interested in being selected to participate will need to complete the full application online INCLUDING THE SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS AND DISCLAIMER PAGE. Up to 20 students will be selected for each camp based on their application and short answer questions. Please note that incomplete applications, including the checking the disclaimers at the end, will NOT be considered. Notifications will begin the week of April 28th. Applications will continue to be accepted until all slots are filled. Applications will be reviewed in the order received.
