Dear Breathe California Bike 4 Breath Riders, Volunteers, and Supporters,

This year, we’re planning to do Bike 4 Breath a little differently. For a full explanation of why we’re making this change, see below. Before making any decisions about what the event looks like, we would love to hear directly from you. Please help us understand your interests for the event by completing the following 3-minute survey. As prior participants and supporters of Bike 4 Breath and Breathe California, your input is extremely valuable.

For the last 25 years, Bike 4 Breath has been one of Breathe California’s signature events, serving to raise awareness of lung health in our community while raising funds for programs and advocacy. So why are we making a change? In recent years, the costs to produce Bike 4 Breath have outweighed the fundraising benefits, leaving little or no “profit” to invest in our core services. Although our riders and volunteers genuinely love the ride, many of you have told us that you would prefer to see your donations invested more directly into the serious lung health issues facing our community. Now we want to hear from everyone.

Thanks so much for your time and we look forward to getting your feedback.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office at 650-994-5868.

Please help us understand your interests and preferences for Breathe California’s 2017 event by completing the following brief survey. We promise it will only take about three minutes to complete.

* 1. Would you be interested in participating in a merged event with our sister organization, Breathe California Sacramento-Emigrant Trails, which would be a multi-day ride that includes overnight camping this September in Petaluma, California?

* 2. If Breathe California helped with fundraising and promotional support, would you be interested in creating/participating in a Special Team of your friends and family to ride independently, outside of an official, organized ride like Bike 4 Breath?

* 3. If you answered "yes" to question 2, which of these ways would you like to be involved? (Select all that apply)

* 4. If a sponsor offered to design an incredible route for your team to ride independently, would you be more inclined to participate?

* 5. What would it take for you to coordinate an independent team and participate on your own team - on your own time - to help support Breathe California this year?

* 6. Is there anything else should we consider as we plan for a new type of event this year?
