2016 Solo and Small Firm Section Award Application
The Council of the South Carolina Bar's Solo & Small Firm Section is soliciting Nominations for this year's Solo & Small Firm Section Award. If a winner is selected, the award will be presented at this year's LPM-TECH Conference on September 16th, 2016. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE MADE VIA THIS SURVEY.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this award is to honor a sole practitioner, small law firm, or single lawyer in a small law firm that has demonstrated service and leadership to the community or fellow lawyers.
CRITERIA
The award recipient must meet one or more of the following criteria:
-Displayed exemplary skill and conduct in his/her practice of law
-Made significant contributions of time and talent to the South Carolina Bar, the lawyer's local Bar, or the lawyer's local community
-Devoted Substantial time and effort to the education and training of fellow solo or small firm lawyers in South Carolina
REQUIREMENTS
Eligible recipients are a sole practitioner, small law firm, or single lawyer in a small firm. Nominees must be licensed in South Carolina and be members of the South Carolina Bar in good standing. Nominated firms must be solo or small firms. Per the Section's current bylaws, a small firm is defined as one with a total of ten or fewer attorneys.
The deadline for nominations is August 5, 2016 via this survey. The Section Award recipient will be notified via e-mail by Friday, August 19, 2016.
