Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Toronto Cycle for Sight! There are a number of volunteer roles available on event day; please take a moment to review the roles before completing our survey.

Volunteer roles include:

Jersey and Swag pick up/Bag Drop off
Friday, June 17th, 2016 12-7pm
The Meet Up & Pack Up takes place the night before Cycle for Sight. This is an opportunity for our cyclists to check-in, drop off their bag for the finish line and receive their rider kit, gift bag and jersey. Over 75% of our event participants come and check-in, which helps to keep the registration process on event day short and sweet.

Route Marking
Friday, June 17th, 2016
This volunteer role is incredibly important to the success of Cycle for Sight. You ensure the route is clear to our cyclists so that they stay on the right path and arrive safely at the finish line. To complete this role you will need your own vehicle, or a partner with a vehicle. Each vehicle will need two volunteers, a driver and a route marker. Route marking volunteers will need to be available for approximately 4-6 hours during the day before Cycle for Sight.

Route Checking
Saturday, June 18th, 2016 6-9:30am
Volunteers will have put route signs up on Friday June 17. The route checker is responsible for ensuring that the route markers are still up and have not been tampered with (ie. Arrows direction switched, missing signs, etc) and that the route is clear for the cyclists.

Toronto kick-off
Saturday, June 18th, 2016 5:30-9:30am

Truck Drivers
Saturday, June 18th, 2016
You play a huge role in ensuring our cyclists have what they need at the start lines, finish line and making sure their bikes get back to them at the end of their ride. Once the cyclists arrive at Blue Mountains they will leave their bike with you if they require transportation back to the start line. You are responsible for loading their bikes and taking them back to the start line.

On Route support
Saturday, June 18th, 2016 - a minimum of 4 hours between 8am-5pm
Route support volunteers ensure our cyclists safety during their ride. There are a variety of support roles along the route.
• Support vehicles
• Course marshals
• Bike mechanics
• Webster and Georgian College rest stops

Alliston kick-off
Saturday, June 18th, 2016 8-11:30am
The Alliston kick-off is the start for our 75km & 85km riders. Come ready to cheer on our cyclists as they depart on their ride up to The Blue Mountains. We need your help to send our riders off in style.

Sweepers
Two people in a large vehicle (van or pick up truck) to pick up route signs and garbage bags from the rest stops and bring them back to Black Creek Pioneer Village

All our volunteers will receive the training they need and a snazzy T-shirt.

Without you Cycle for Sight would not be possible!
