Greetings prospective FIRST students,

Congratulations on your acceptance to Clemson University! Below you will find the FIRST Generation Success program application.

There are a variety of options to get involved. You can sign up for any combination of the following:

FIRST Mentoring:
Clemson’s top first-generation scholars look forward to serving as your mentor during your first year. Mentors are matched primarily by major. Your mentor will offer academic support and will also help you learn your way around, answer questions you have about the way the University works, and make sure everything is going well for you. Mentors are equipped to assist with transition, campus involvement, development of goals, and establishing connections on campus. All students applying to FIRST will be assigned a FIRST mentor.

Gen 1 - Living and Learning Community (this is an OPTIONAL component of FIRST):
McCabe Hall, last year's most requested residence hall, houses the FIRST Living and Learning Community for a limited number of students. The community offers a shared academic experience with planned social interactions, faculty interaction, in-hall advising and educational workshops. Simply select the FIRST LLC when you make your Housing selection

FIRST Summer Preview Program (This is an OPTIONAL component of FIRST):
The FIRST Summer Preview Program is available to a limited number of students. Information is available on our website.

After completing the application, you will receive an email confirmation within two weeks. You will hear from your FIRST mentor over the summer, before you get to campus. We will have a large Welcome Event the first week of classes, where you can meet our staff and other new and returning FIRST students here at Clemson.

Thank you for applying to FIRST!
