The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is embarking on a visioning process to propose permanent transit, streetscape enhancements, and public space improvements along 14th Street in Manhattan, from the Hudson River to the East River. NYC DOT is leading this effort in collaboration with the Meatpacking District Management Association (MDMA) and the Union Square Partnership (USP). This process seeks to enhance the public realm by linking popular destinations, including parks, transit hubs, and institutions on the corridor. This builds upon the past decade of successful transit, bicycle network, and public realm improvements along this corridor.
The vision plan will propose street improvements that bolster the vitality of landmark neighborhoods on 14th Street, improving the quality of life and economic growth for decades to come. More information about this project can be found at

To kick off this multi-year effort NYC DOT would like to hear about your experiences along the 14th Street so that we may better understand how the corridor is used and anything else you want to share that would be helpful as NYC DOT creates the vision plan. Please complete the survey below by April 10th, 2026.
