For businesses and organisations with community at heart

From grassroots support to community-led initiatives, this award celebrates individuals and organisations that make an outstanding contribution to their community, recognising work, actions, and commitment that create a meaningful and lasting positive impact on the people and places around them. To recognise these different forms of contribution, Community Spirit will be presented as two separate awards.
  • Community Organisation Award – for organisations whose core purpose is to support the community.
  • Community Business Award – for businesses that go above and beyond their core operations to support local initiatives.

Eligibility
The Community Spirit award is open to businesses and organisations based in Hastings Borough and Rother District in East Sussex


Upcoming Dates to Keep in Mind
  • All applications must be received by Friday 20th November 2026
  • Finalists will be notified after the judges have made their final decision.
  • A celebratory Business Breakfast celebrating the award recipients and bringing businesses together will be held on Friday 26th February 2026

The Judging Process
  • The award nominees will be reviewed and scored by the award category sponsor and adjudicated by members of Let's Do Business Group.
  • Situations involving any sort of bias or conflict of interest will be dealt with prior to the reviewing & scoring process begins. We work hard to ensure that all decisions are made on a sound and unbiased basis.

Additional Notes & Tips
  • Regardless of the nomination type, please ensure that your organisation meets all of the requirements listed above. Your submission cannot be processed if the requirements are not met.
  • Please complete this application to the best of your ability including as much details as possible. This helps us ensure that we are able to learn as much about the organisation being nominated as possible.
  • We recommend you review your application prior to making a submission. You may Save and Resume your application at any point while completing it.
  • Our organization expects that all nominees will act ethically, morally, and safely in the delivery of their chosen activity/service. Any award recipient found to breach this expectation will have their award revoked.
