NJACCHO is pleased to sponsor a series of I-200-Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response training sessions for
public health officials and others across New Jersey. These workshops are
designed to prepare participants with the necessary knowledge to pass the 1-200 exam during the second day of class.
Prerequisites:
-I-100; I-700 and I-800 classes.
If you have not yet met the pre-requisites, they must be completed prior to the first day of the course
These full day (9:00am - 3:00pm), will be held on two days back to back.
Sessions will be held:
1. January 16 and 17 at the Monmouth County Health Department
CLOSED/Completed.
2. February 20 and 21 is at the Vineland Library in Cumberland County
3. March 11 and 12 is at Ocean County Fire & First Aid Training Center in Waretown(Note Change in location.)
4. March 25 and 26 is at the Bernards Township Library in Somerset County
5. May 20 and 21 is at the Hunterdon County Route 12 Complex
6. June 3 and 4 is at the Passaic County Public Safety Academy building
This course is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS) and focuses on the management of an initial response to an incident.
At the end of the course, you should be able to:
-Describe the course objectives and summarize basic information about the Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS).
-Describe how the NIMS Management Characteristics relate to Incident Command and Unified Command.
-Describe the delegation of authority process, implementing authorities, management by objectives, and preparedness plans and objectives.
-Identify ICS organizational components, the Command Staff, the General Staff, and ICS tools.
-Describe different types of briefings and meetings.
-Explain flexibility within the standard ICS organizational structure.
-Explain transfer of command briefings and procedures.
-Use ICS to manage an incident or event.
