Please register to join us for a Donation Champion Learning Session in BETHLEHEM, PA on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
* Discuss strategies to increase the number of available transplantable organs and meet the needs of patients waiting for organ transplants.
* Describe transplant recipients' and donor family members' perspectives on organ donation.
* Discuss best demonstrated practices related to timeliness of potential organ donor referrals, family support, & approaching families about donation opportunities.
* Describe the clinical testing used to determine brain death and how it is communicated to families.
* Compare and contrast the process for donation after brain death with donation after circulatory death (DCD).
* No fee to attend, just a commitment to be in action / attentive

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
ICU & ER Nurses, Nurse Leaders, OR Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Pastoral Care and those who may care for a potential organ donor at a hospital in Gift of Life's service area.  If you do not work at a hospital within the GLDP service area, please call to inquire about your ability to attend this program.  Please note, children are not permitted to attend this session. Guests bringing children with them will be declined admittance.
