You own your data.

Your data belongs to you, not SurveyMonkey.

We don’t contact your survey respondents unless you tell us to.

This also means we don’t use your survey data to advertise to your respondents.

We don’t sell your survey responses without your consent.

You can control who you share your survey data with – whether it’s showing a private group individual responses, or contributing aggregated response data to our Benchmarks service.

We own and manage our key information technology infrastructure and use some of the most advanced technology available for internet security. Learn more.

Your survey data is hosted in the U.S.

We know you care about where your data is located. Customers outside the U.S. contract with our Irish subsidiary which is regulated by European privacy laws. Our U.S. company, SurveyMonkey Inc., complies with the US-EU and US-Swiss Safe Harbor Frameworks in accordance with European requirements for international data transfers.

Opt-out of our email advertising.

We know not everyone wants to hear about all our other services, so you can opt-out of receiving promotional emails from us, either by clicking the unsubscribe link in our emails or through your account settings page.

Our subscription services automatically renew.

Some of our services are subscriptions, which means you will be automatically billed for it on a recurring basis – typically every month or year. If you pay by credit card, we will charge your credit card at the time of renewal.

You can cancel automatic renewal at any time.

You can do this yourself through your online account management page or have us do it for you by contacting customer support. Unfortunately, we don’t issue pro rata refunds if you cancel your subscription mid-billing cycle, except where required by law.
