The Role 

We are looking for an Engineering Manager for the Growth Team who has a real passion for solving complex and interesting problems. We work closely with other teams to build tools to help support A/B testing across all of our products. We also build and run A/B tests to help grow our business by increasing paid conversions and retaining paying customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers
  • Build and maintain our internal A/B testing platform, built primarily in Python
  • Top-to-bottom ownership of Growth projects, including crafting technical specs, writing readable and extensible code, and keeping tabs on post-release metrics
  • Help grow SurveyMonkey’s business by optimizing funnels and virality loops
  • Evangelize experimentation throughout our product and engineering organization

Requirements:

  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of Python and experience working with the relevant tools
  • Experience with Python web frameworks, like Pylons/Pyramid or Django; or for other languages, like Ruby on Rails
  • Able to write efficient SQL queries and design schemas for relational databases
  • Culture of code reviews, writing tech specs, and collaborating closely with other people
  • A deep understanding of the JavaScript language and of the tools and code libraries (React, Redux, Webpack).
  • 5+ years of programming experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
