Trump Approval: June 23-29

Trump Approval: June 23-29

SurveyMonkey’s weekly polling (ending Thursday June 29) finds 41 percent of adults nationwide approve of the way Donald Trump is handling his job as president and 56 percent disapprove. That result represents a drop of two percentage points from the previous week in approval and a 2-point increase in disapproval since last week.

The President’s rating this past week is back on the lower end of the range (40 to 47 percent) tracked by SurveyMonkey since early February.

SurveyMonkey’s tracking also finds a 7-percentage-point-spike from the previous week (23 percent to 30 percent) in those who select “health care” as the issue that matters most to them, representing a new high during the Trump administration. The Senate Republicans released their proposed health care bill, Better Care Reconciliation Act or “BRCA”, on Thursday, June 22nd, just before we began interviewing for this week’s tracking survey.

Concerns about health care have been rising during the early months of Trump’s presidency. They spiked previously, growing from 17 to 24 percent, peaking just after House Republicans released their American Health Care Act (AHCA) bill in early March, but fell again after Republicans temporarily withdrew the bill from consideration on March 24. Concerns about health care spiked for a second time, rising to 26 percent, following passage of the AHCA in the House.
