Come On Over: Switch to Analyze Beta (If You Haven’t Already)!

What’s your favorite Analyze feature in SurveyMonkey? Do filters make your heart flutter? Perhaps you go ga-ga for custom reports? Well, whatever gets your Analyze engine running–we’re doing it bigger and better with Analyze Beta!

In Analyze Beta, we’ve taken the features you’ve grown to know and love, and served ‘em up with a side of awesome. It doesn’t matter if you’re a BASIC free account holder, or have a Professional plan with us, you can access the analyze features in Beta. Here are some of the exciting feature upgrades to check out:


Filtering just got easier with the ability to create unlimited filters. You can easily add and remove them with just a click of your mouse. When the green check mark is highlighted, your filter(s) will be applied. Simply click on the check mark to unapply the filter.


In the past, you may have wanted to show your data side by side with more than five answer choices. Well, you spoke and we listened. You can now crosstab unlimited answer choices using our Compare option.


With the Show rule, you can limit the data you see to specific questions in your survey, just like you would with Custom Reports in Classic Analyze. And with Saved Views, you can combine your Show rule with Filters and Compares to build the ultimate customized report. Save as many different views as you need.

Fun Fact: If you have a free account with us as a BASIC customer, you can apply these features to see how they work. This isn’t offered in our Classic Analyze.

Use Filters, Crosstabs, and Views at the same time and create the ultimate customized report. We also now offer Saved View, which allows you to create several reports and come back to them later.


We’ve really ramped things up for you here, folks because we’re now featuring real time exports. This means that your exported data will automatically be presented to you for downloading. We’ve also revamped our beloved PDF summary export. Your open-ended responses will now show after each question, as opposed to a summary at the end of the report.

Last but definitely not least–our gorgeously eye-catching Charts feature. In addition to the standard Pie, Bar, Column, Line and Area charts–we now also have Donut and Stacked (vertical and horizontal) charts. You’ll truly be in the driver’s seat when it comes to how you want these charts displayed. You can choose to show/hide the chart, the data table, or both.

You can display your charts with absolute numbers for each answer option, or as a percent of the total. And if you have a lot of answer options that didn’t get selected, you can exclude those from your chart. We’re still working on the ability to export these charts individually so stay tuned.

So get out there and and take Analyze Beta out for a test drive if you haven’t already! We have a feeling you’ll be going from 0-60 in no time. All you need to get started is to click on the Try it Now button in the Analyze Results section of your SurveyMonkey account.

    I have the basic account and am just getting started with my surveys. But I love how easy it is to set up, edit it to what I need in a survey, and deliver it Even with a basic account, the results data is great. I know it will take sending it out often to get customers to responding. Just wanted to say I think this is a great service and (thanks to iostreams website service or I would never have known about SurveyMonkey) I appreciate that I can try out your new AnalyzeBeta before I buy.

    Love the new version – very easy to use. I only wish I could export the individual responses in PDF form. Our Board and funders like to see the individual responses to verify results. Would like to be able to download and save the individual responses for each year to back up our annual report.

      It’s my first experience with SurveyMonkey, but I do agree with Lisa M, it would be so much useful to export individual responses in PDF or even Word/Excel format. Sometimes clients require this kind of service.
      But keep going on like this, SurveyMonkey is great!

  3. One feature I have been waiting for, for three years, is the ability to “print out” a nicely formatted .pdf of a single respondants survey. That is, all the questions one person answered. I have been stuck with a tedious “print screen” option and this has not been a professional way to do it. Have you offered this ability in the version?

    I saw the note about PDF Individual Responses coming soon. Thank you so much! That is the one thing I’ve needed to do with SurveyMonkey that has been really awkward to accomplish. I emailed you about this before, and I’m so glad to see it’s coming. I can’t wait to try it!

    I have a survey that our agency completed and it lists items like each person’s favorite resturant, food, beverage, etc… we have a total of 100 questions and we want to be able to have a document that lists out the persons name and then their favorites…However, in all the reports and filters that I export it shows the persons name and then in a completely seperate chart it shows the response number and then their favorite resturant. So in order to use the report we would have to first find the coresponding response number for that person THEN go into the second portion of the report and find the corresponsing response – it is just not an efficient process for our team…we need clean and simple viewing…Please help! What am I missing?
