How Full Is Your Glass? Most People Are Optimists

Optimists far outnumber pessimists, but apparently that’s by choice. The Secret Society of Happy People recently ran a survey that revealed optimism is a state of mind you need to nurture, not something you’re born with. Here’s what else they found:

  • 85.9% of people consider themselves optimists. (Tweet this.)
  • 91.5% of optimists need frequent boosts to maintain their optimism. (Tweet this.)
  • Most people believe outside influences make them pessimistic, rather than internal struggles. (Tweet this.)
  • Toxic people, world events, money, illness and work issues are the most common causes of pessimism. (Tweet this.)
