I’m very pleased to announce the latest improvement to our Question Bank–the release of the Harvard Graduate School of Education Pre-K-12 Parent Survey (quite the mouthful). You can see the survey and find out a bit more about our collaboration with the Harvard Graduate School of Education here.

Dr. Hunter Gehlbach, a professor from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and his research team developed a list of questions that we have incorporated into Question Bank. These questions help measure critical aspects of family and school relationships.

Dr. Gehlbach and his research team used a variety of methods to create the questions, using a combination of relevant literature and speaking directly to parents about what is important to them.

The survey tries to provide insight across many areas of parent-school relationships, for example:

  • Assessing the quality of family-school relationships
  • Assessing how well parents are supporting their students’ learning
  • Comparing the family-school relationships at their school to other similar schools
  • Testing how well interventions are working which are designed to improve family-school relationships

Also, please keep in mind that we recommend the survey (which can be found on our “Create Survey” page, under the expert survey templates) is deployed as a whole for methodology reasons.

The survey is divided into sets of “scales”, which are collections of related questions.  You can deploy any of the scales as a group (we have templates for each) or select them from within Question Bank:
