Is Binge Watching the Best Way to Watch?

Television shows might be served up in weekly episodes, but streaming services like Netflix and Amazon are making it easy to plow through entire seasons of your favorite show in one sitting. A recent Slate survey used SurveyMonkey Audience to reveal that the once-geeky binge watching pastime is quickly becoming the preferred way to watch. Here’s what they learned:

  • 58% of people pay more attention to shows when they’re binge watching. (Tweet this.)
  • 57% of people binge on TV, movies or music, but only 49% binge on other forms of media at all. (Tweet this.)
  • Most people say binge-watching shows is enjoyable because it allows them to skip commercials. (Tweet this.)
  • Breaking Bad is the most popular TV show for binge viewing, followed by Orange Is the New Black, Dexter, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones. (Tweet this.)
