Do People Trust Bitcoin as a Legitimate Currency?

It seems like people are talking about Bitcoin’s virtual currency more than they’re actually utilizing it. However, while Bitcoin might not be in everyone’s wallet, it’s certainly on everyone’s minds. On Bloomberg TV, SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg revealed the findings of our survey showing that, in spite of a small following, this Internet-based money might someday have investment value.

Here’s what we found:

  • 64% of people have heard of Bitcoin. (Tweet this.)
  • Only 11% of people have used Bitcoin to buy or sell something. (Tweet this.)
  • 54% of respondents say they are not likely to use Bitcoin in the future. (Tweet this.)
  • 16% of people say that Bitcoin will definitely be a legitimate currency one day. (Tweet this.)
