ENTRAJUDA is a Portuguese non-profit organization, launched in 2004 to support non-profit organizations that received food aid from the Food Bank. These organizations, managed with the “heart” and mostly linked to the church, struggled to survive due to their lack of managerial expertise.

ENTRAJUDA works with their partner organizations to accomplish the following goals: Capacity Building, Training (covering practical subjects and tools, relevant d-t-d issues, Quality – ISO, Volunteer management, Empowering destitute families), Volunteers’ Online Network (connecting volunteers and associations), Non-food Bank (clothing, personal and hygiene products, furniture…), Electrical Equipment Bank (recycling corporate computers and providing them to associations with licensed software), Solidarity Projects (Corporate Social Responsibility projects created together with the corporate sector),  and Health Solidarity (providing doctors, dentists volunteers, Prevention Workshops and check-ups to nonprofits).

ENTRAJUDA’s activity has a national scope, working at regional level with the support of the Portuguese Food Bank network, which is made up of 19 food banks. There are currently more than 3,300 associations registered with ENTRAJUDA. 974 institutions received goods or services from ENTRAJUDA in 2011, impacting more than 320,000 vulnerable people.

SurveyMonkey enables us to efficiently contact our institutions, eliminating the workload associated with fax or email replies. We have used SurveyMonkey extensively for the last 2 years. The online forms are quick to put together, easy to execute, and we get more replies more quickly than ever before. Survey Monkey has greatly increased our ability to interact with our institutions.

We use SurveyMonkey extensively, for everything from receiving applications from institutions requesting ENTRAJUDA’s support, from training to goods’ distribution and get institutions and volunteers’ feedback. Through the 2 years using Survey Monkey we have performed 29 online surveys with more than 8,000 responses in total. Currently we have 9 active surveys.

  • The Center for Media Justice has been using SurveyMonkey to empower our organization for 6+ years.

    We organize and host an array of events (advocacy, conference delegations, convenings, educational, strategy sessions, trainings, etc.) and use SurveyMonkey to collect post-event information, including feedback, contact information, and suggestions for future topics.

    We also organize action campaigns (e.g. Prison Phone Justice) and use SurveyMonkey to solicit commitment from our partner organizations.

    With our Grassroots Communications Funding Survey, we sought to better understand the demographics, funding amounts and sources, communications spending and staffing of grassroots communications organizations.

    We also extensively use SurveyMonkey internally to prioritize initiatives, gather business requirements for new solutions, and administer 360° peer reviews.

  • I work for the South Tahoe Association of REALTORS® . We’d love to hear more ideas about how to use Survey Monkey for things other than just surveys. How does it work?? (i.e. do you use it to collect feedback from people to schedule meetings? Is it just when you need specific questions answered? Do people have to indicate who they are or can Survey Monkey do that automatically, like with email replies?)

    Currently we utilize Survey Monkey to obtain feedback from our members for educational events – what did they like or not like & what would they like to see next, as well as special events like our annual Open House weekens and our annual Installation & Awards event. It’s been fantastic for these purposes, but I’d love to learn more about how to expand using it in other ways.

      Really glad that you liked the different ways to use surveys post! We’ll do more posts like this and try to put in more survey examples. Basically, you can use SurveyMonkey whenever you need to gather information. For example, when you’re trying to schedule a conference call, just list the times your considering in a multiple choice question and have people vote! Our email collector lets you do all sorts of fun things. Just upload your email addresses into our system! Once you have customized the invitation message and scheduled the delivery, we distribute a unique, tracking link to each recipient on your list. You also have other benefits such as tracking who responded, managing the opt outs, sending out reminder messages to those who have not yet respond, and organizing your email list by status.
