Gaining Insights With Customer Feedback Surveys

Gaining Insights With Customer Feedback Surveys

Since we’re in the feedback business here at SurveyMonkey, we’re always eager to hear how our customers are using our tool. Undeniably, one of the most common uses is customer feedback. Our surveying technology makes it faster (and easier) than ever before to connect with your customers and get their opinions — just like this survey maker:

“We began using SurveyMonkey in January 2010, and have conducted tons of surveys since then. We used to be dependent on our IT department to develop online surveys and post them on our website. With SurveyMonkey, we are able to do this ourselves and have them set up and run very quickly. Turnaround times have reduced from 3-4 months to 3-4 weeks! We have been able to use SurveyMonkey to gather customer feedback on a variety of topics and have been able to implement necessary actions based on the feedback received very quickly.” — Mathew K., Customer Relations Manager

As Mathew reported, surveying is a speedy way to understand what your customers want and make actionable changes. What’s more, you can build on that initial feedback you’ve received in your first survey.  By standardizing your surveys and sending them out regularly to your customers (either by email or an automatic system like ZenDesk), you can receive a regular stream of feedback from the people who matter most to your business.

Take a spin through this survey template (designed by our expert methodologists), which you can customize to help accurately measure customer satisfaction with your company, product, and service.

My basic-free survey went so well that I wanted to upgrade to Gold but my corporate card was not accepted and I could not access any customer support to help with this. What is going on?

    • Hanna J

Hi Victoria – Yikes, so sorry about that! Just email, and they’ll get you upgraded ASAP. Thanks!

  • Rebecca Fleischer

    Just a suggestion.
I really enjoy cutomizing questionnaires. However, I don’t use survey monkey enough to pay for it monthly in order to get the upgrade.
Perhaps having a small one-time use fee for upgrade features could be put in place? Even just for one survey?

      Hi Rebecca –

We’ve passed the suggestion on to the product team. Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. Would the monthly select option work for you? Read more here:

I’ve submitted two email helps and no one has responded. Your site says you will answer in 2 hours or less but it has been 2 weeks!

    • Sheila G

Hi Emily. Sorry to hear that! Just to double check: are you emailing our support team at this address: ? If you haven’t heard anything you might consider checking your spam folder and talk to your IT team about making sure communications from SurveyMonkey aren’t considered to be spam. Here’s a little more info: Let me know if you still can’t get through!

  • Beth

Are there specific SurveyMonkey templates designed for smartphone/iPhone users?

    • Sheila G

Hi Beth. We don’t have any templates that include questions that are specific to smartphone users, but we do have a wide range of product feedback surveys that can be easily customized to ask questions of that demographic. Take a look!
And, just so you know, our surveys automatically reformat for almost all mobile browsers, so smartphone users should have no problem completing surveys on their phones. Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions!
