Here at SurveyMonkey, we LOVE dressing up. We love it so much, we hold monthly dress-up days. So, it shouldn’t surprise you that we’re crazy about Halloween!
So, in order to properly celebrate, we decided to dress up the illustrated citizens of our SurveyMonkey Contribute homepage.
And, since we love surveys almost as much as we love Halloween, we decided to create a survey to find out which costumes the public liked best. After building a quick, four-question survey, we used SurveyMonkey Audience to survey a pool of respondents eager to give us their opinions.
So, what did we learn?
The witch wins! More than 40% of all respondents picked her as their favorite costume. Frankenstein was the second choice with just over 25% of all respondents selecting him as their top choice!
But why stop there?
Since the survey included a question asking respondents to identify their gender, we decided to crosstab our results to see how responses varied between men and women. While just over half of the female respondents preferred the witch, male respondents were evenly split between the witch and Frankenstein.
Finally, because the competition for an original Halloween costume can be fierce, we wanted a few ideas. So, we included a comment box and asked respondents what they were planning on dressing up as on the big day. Then we used our new text analysis feature to surface the most popular answers.
Although some respondents aren’t as crazy for costumes as we are, most had some great plans in mind!
