PLEASE THOROUGHLY READ THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
DESCRIPTION:

This course is offered for Beginning Teachers and Support Providers as they complete the third semester in the NCBTP BTSA/Induction Program.
PARTICIPANTS ARE EXPECTED TO:
• Attend program seminars focusing on the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP);

• Meet weekly (Beginning Teacher & Support Provider) to develop standards-based action plans, reflections, and participate in problem solving regarding CSTP 1: Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning;

• Complete an Inquiry: Engaging All Students in Learning, involving creating an action plan, investigating resources, classroom observations, and peer collaboration;

• Complete a Support Provider observation to demonstrate professional development within CSTP 1: Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning and participate in a reflective post-conference;

• Complete a self-reflection and self-evaluation using CSTP 1: Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning to develop an Individual Induction Plan; or Support Provider Continuum;

• Collect and evaluate evidence as defined by completion of Induction requirements;

• Demonstrate the use of the Assess, Plan, Teach, Reflect, Apply teaching cycle;

• Complete all Program components and evaluations.
HOURS OF PARTICIPATION:

University courses are designed using a formula of 15 hours per unit. This course reflects a minimum of 45 combined hours of attendance, participation, site work, and implementation for the Beginning Teacher and 30 combined hours for the Support Provider.
EVALUATION:

All Beginning Teachers are to continue the development of a portfolio demonstrating work towards completion of CSTP Standard 3: Understanding and Organizing Subject Matter for Student Learning with a focus on backwards planning and assessing student learning. The portfolio will be completed at the end of 4 semesters.
I have read the above course requirements and agree to complete those requirements for Semester 1 of Year 2. Evidence of completion is kept in the Beginning Teacher’s Professional Portfolio and is available for review upon request and documentation of completion is recorded and verified on the Inquiry Completion Log which will be submitted at the end of the third semester of Induction.

I understand that, should I be unable to complete the requirements as described above, I will receive an incomplete and will not receive the units until I am able to fulfill all requirements.
