1. Why we are doing this survey

The past 15 to 20 years have seen a huge shift in how Christian mission is being conducted. During this time there has been a greater emphasis on the local church, or groups of churches, conducting their own missions programme to reach people in the UK and overseas.

It’s great news that members of the local church are increasingly becoming involved in mission, but do mission agencies (this term is used to include missionary societies and other para-church organisations involved in home and overseas mission) have any place in this new structure, and if so what is it?

This short survey aims to gauge your opinion as to the role mission agencies have to play in the future of mission. Are we a dying breed or do we have a valuable place in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ around the world? And, if we are to be effective for another 50 years, how should we be working with your church to help you achieve what God is calling you to do?
