Winter Farming Assistance Application

 

This application is the first step in asking for help from the Maine Rural Partners "Extend the Know Your Farmer Season" initiative.

Fill out this application if you would like help evaluating whether winter marketing is a good risk for your business. We offer barrier to entry analysis and business planning assistance with an emphasis on marketing and financing. We also have access to production expertise.

The application has 18 questions and will take about ten minutes to complete. You should be able to answer them without doing special preparation. All questions require an answer.

Following review of applications, a member of our project team will contact you to discuss your needs and interests further. If your farm is selected as one of the top 10 applicants, you will work with your liaison to create a tailored Business Assistance Team to help you evaluate your winter marketing risks and opportunities.

At the end of the process, you will have solid information that will allow you to choose wisely if winter production and sales are for you.

You will also receive publicity to boost your farm's marketing efforts including a case study sharing what was learned.

We will start reviewing applications after January 30, 2012 and make decisions in early February.
