Introduction

The purpose of this survey is to gather information on key attributes (e.g. behaviours) of effective water leaders working in different contexts throughout Australia.

This information will help to focus the content of the International WaterCentre’s (IWC) new Water Leadership Program (see: www.watercentre.org/leadership). The survey should take up to 30 minutes, and the information you provide will be treated as ‘anonymous data’.

The survey asks for your views on only three types of non-executive water leadership roles:
Project champions (or key change agents) who work at the project level to strongly drive integrated water management projects / policies.
Enabling leaders who create environments for collaboration, experimentation and learning to advance integrated water management projects / policies.
Team / project leaders who are formally responsible for delivering integrated water management outcomes from their teams.

Please note that a person may play more than one of these leadership roles (e.g. a 'project champion' may also be a 'team leader').

If you are short of time, you may wish to provide information on only one of these three roles. This option would take 10-15 minutes and involve skipping some questions.

If you don't know the answer to a question, please just skip it.

For the purpose of this survey, ‘leadership’ is defined as a process of influence that involves establishing direction (vision), aligning resources, and generating motivation and providing inspiration to others.

To easily view descriptions of the three water leadership roles at any time during the survey, open the following link in a new window or tab now: Role descriptions
