Uniontown-Colton Community Survey

Colton/Uniontown area residents and businesses, your opinions about our communities are needed:

* How are the organizations and businesses in Colton and Uniontown doing?
* What would you like to see changed or improved in our communities?
* What are you willing to do to help improve our communities?

A group of residents from Colton and Uniontown with support from the Town of Colton, the Town of Uniontown, the School District and the Uniontown Community Development Association (UCDA) has been working over the past 9 months to identify where and how small towns have successfully survived and thrived. We have read about improvement efforts in many towns and listened to experts on small town dynamics. Now your opinion is needed.

Please complete and submit your survey by February 12, 2012. Your responses will be combined with all other responses and will be reported and retained so that individual responses will not be identifiable to a specific person. Please submit only one survey per person. If you have a question or concern about the survey, please send an email to dalemiller41@gmail.com.

To provide a potential reward for filling out the survey, at the end of the survey you can click on a link and send an email to enter either a drawing for a gift certificate for $250 that can be used in the purchase of an energy star appliance from a retailer in the Palouse area or a drawing for $25 gift certificates that can be used at any business located in Uniontown or Colton. In addition, for those who fill out the survey and attend the follow up community meeting, 4 gift certificates worth $25 each for purchases at Colton or Uniontown businesses will be awarded at the community meeting. To be eligible to win you must complete and submit a survey and live or work in the Colton/Uniontown area (zip codes 99179 and 99113).

A community meeting will be held on February 29 at 6:30 PM in the Dahmen Barn to review the results of the survey and discuss potential community improvement strategies. There will be an additional drawing at the community meeting to award gift certificates to attendees for purchases at Uniontown or Colton businesses.

Donations from Southeast Washington Economic Development Association (SEWEDA), Avista and individuals paid for the cost of publishing and distributing the survey.
