Over the next two years Phil Borges will be traveling to various countries around the world to help communities create films that address social and economic justice issues faced by women and girls. Local community activists will direct the films and choose the issues depicted. The finished films will then be shown to neighboring villages/communities in their respective countries.

Phil will be taking one or two interns on each of the 3 to 4 week Community Directed Media trips. Their roles will be to assist in the production of the film and to help document the entire process from story development to production and distribution. Where connectivity is available they will be blogging back to the Stirring the Fire website.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of photography, film, sound, journalism and/or post-production with a strong understanding of storytelling. Prior experience traveling in the developing world and working with non-profit organizations is also beneficial.

These internship are unpaid and interns will be responsible for airfare and some in country expenses. Interested applicants may apply below. At this time we cannot disclose the exact details. Fitting candidates will be contacted with information about the project, location, and travel dates.
