My favourite outdoor space

School of Architecture, University of Sheffield, in partnership with the Brighton & Hove City Council, the Noise Abatement Society, and others, is investigating the quality of outdoor environments for social and recreational use in Brighton & Hove. To do this, we need your help, and would like to ask you to kindly complete this well structured, multiple choice questionnaire. We invite residents in all neighbourhoods of Brighton & Hove to provide information on how you perceive the outdoor environment where you live. Results may serve as point of references for development. Your responses are anonymous.

In return, we and our partners will use the results to continue our work to help improve the living environment for us all through supporting designers, planners and policy makers with facts.

We estimate that most people are able to complete the questionnaire within 20–30 minutes. Using the same computer, you may return to the questionnaire to complete it later if you may not finish it in one session. However, this means that there can only be one user or participant per computer. Therefore, you are recommended to use a computer that no one else uses.

Please observe that participating in a scientific study is voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time without there being any negative consequences. Your responses will be kept strictly confidential. This study has been approved via the ethics review procedure of the School of Architecture, University of Sheffield.

By clicking the “Next” button below you consent to take part in the study and give permission for members of the research team to have access to your responses.

Thank you for your time and assistance.
