CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE IN RESEARCH
Title of Research Project: A Study of Close Relationships

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how couples respond to stress in order to help psychologists to better understand people’s psychological and relationship outcomes.
Description of Project: You will be invited to answer some questionnaires about 1) your typical ways of dealing with stress, 2) how you offer support to your partner, 3) your psychological and relationship features.
Possible Risks: There is minimal risk associated with this study.
Possible Benefits to the Participant: Participants will not receive any compensation. You may not personally benefit from your participation in this research; however, your participation may provide valuable information to our scientific understanding about these important topics.
Alternatives to Participation: You may choose to discontinue your participation whenever you feel uncomfortable with the procedures.
Records of Participation in this Research: All of the information participants provide to investigators as part of this research will be protected and held in confidence within the limits of the law and institutional regulation. Only trained researchers can assess the database. Every possible effort will be made to preserve confidentiality regarding this data.
Publications Associated with this Research: The results of this research may appear in publications or presented at conferences, but individual participants will not be identified.
