This survey aims to find out more about the experience of parents of premature or summer born children who try to arrange for their child /children to start reception class a year later (after their fifth, rather than fourth, birthday). Children born between 1 April and 31 August are summer born.
We particularly want to find out about the impact of government advice published in England in July 2013. Therefore we are asking parents whether they have been, or are going through, the school admissions application process before or after this point.
This survey is being carried out by Bliss, together with other charities and partners, and its findings will be used to campaign for improvements in the school admissions process for premature and summer born children.
Unless your children share the same birth date (twins or multiples) please complete a separate survey for each child.
