Commuters' Compliance to Route Diversions due to West LRT Construction
My name is Hina Saleemi and I am a graduate student at the University of Calgary in Civil Engineering. I am conducting a survey to investigate the commuters’ perception to trip information related to route diversion due to west LRT construction. I am doing my Master in Transportation Engineering on this subject and as part of the research I have to collect the data to analyze travelers’ perception to en route and pre-trip traffic information as related to route diversion and closures due to west LRT construction. The data will be collected, reported, analyzed, and concluded anonymously and in aggregate form.
Data Confidentiality:
My supervisor Dr. Lina Kattan, and my co-supervisor Dr. Alex de Barros and myself will have access to the data. The data collected will be treated confidentially and will be securely stored. The electronic data will be kept for 5 years in a password-protected computer. The online survey is being administered by Surveymonkey, an American software company. As such, your responses are subject to U.S. laws, including the USA Patriot Act. The risks associated with participation are minimal, however, and similar to those associated with many e-mail programs, such as Hotmail and social utilities spaces, such as Facebook and MySpace.
If you live/work in the vicinity of west LRT construction or if any of your commute is being affected by this construction then please participate in this questionnaire survey, which will take approximately 10-15 minutes of your time. Please note that completion of the survey will be taken as agreement to participate. Participation in survey is completely anonymous and voluntarily, so please feel free to exit this survey at any time prior to completing the survey. If you will exit the survey, the information you have provided will not be saved by the system.This research study has been approved by Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board (CFREB) of the University of Calgary.
