The Rio Linda/Elverta community has an opportunity to relocate Sacramento Public Library’s Rio Linda Library into a larger facility. This would be an interim measure that would provide time to identify funding for construction of the new library.

Twin Rivers Unified School District is closing the Rio Linda Elementary School in June 2010. Building H, approximately 8,000 sq ft, is being considered for an interim Rio Linda Library.

The current Rio Linda Library is 4,000 sq ft, contains 25,261 books, 24 reader seats, 8 internet computers, circulates 64,300 items per year and has 54,200 customer visits per year. As the main need at this time is to provide increased space for people and technology, the elementary school building is an ideal solution. An 8,000 sq foot library would provide space for 27,000 books, 55 reader seats, 18 internet computers and 4 group study seats.

Please complete this survey before the deadline of Saturday June 19, 2010.
