Area Transportation Authority of North Central Pennsylvania

1. Commuter Survey

The purpose of this survey is to help the Area Transportation Authority of North Central Pennsylvania (ATA) complete a feasibility study for commuter bus service originating in the Clearfield area of Clearfield County, and traveling to Philipsburg and State College in Centre County. A demonstration project providing bus service between these communities may be offered by ATA if demand is sufficient. The bus service will likely operate Monday through Friday and serve shifts with the highest demand. This survey will help ATA to optimize schedules for your convenience. There is no convenient bus service for commuters in Clearfield County who travel to Centre County, the Philipsburg area or State College. The US Census data for 2000 shows that nearly 4800 Clearfield County residents travel into Centre County each day however, no additional data is available to indicate which communities are most affected. This survey will help identify the specific needs for commuters in Clearfield County. Please take the time to respond to this important survey.

An additional question (3) concerning the county of residence was added on 3/12/2010 to discern county residency of the Philipsburg area respondents.

Additional questions (20, 31, 32, & 33) were added concerning service to the Houtzdale area on 3/12/2010.

Thank you for participating in our survey.
