COMMUNITY SENIOR SERVICES
Celebrating 35 years of "connecting people, information, resources, and communities"
ReAL Connections
Resources for Ageless Living Community Survey
Dear Neighbor:
Community Senior Services is collaborating with many of your neighbors to create an exciting new resource for our community. Tentatively, we are calling the program “ReAL Connections” -- Resources for Ageless Living. The basic idea is that people aged 50+ can—and want to—remain in their homes, enjoying vibrant lives. This can only be accomplished by enabling residents to connect with others and with essential services as easily as possible. ReAL Connections will allow this with one phone call or web click. This innovative concept is based on the successful program in Boston called Beacon Hill Village.*
Our extensive research, conducted last fall, indicated considerable interest in making “ReAL Connections” a reality. We are now reaching out to all residents in the Claremont-San Dimas-La Verne area to gain a better understanding of what services you would find worthwhile whether you are:
• Fully-employed and looking for a “personal assistant” to help you accomplish more.
• Nearly retired and seeking intellectual stimulation and community engagement.
• Looking for quality, trusted services to stay active and independent as you age.
• Concerned about not being available when an older parent needs you.
The service-focused survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. Information you share will remain confidential and be put together with your neighbors’ responses to further define the combination of social, educational, health and other services that would be most valued. Your response is essential to our planning.
In order for you and your neighbors to receive the most benefits, we plan to use existing resources, rather than develop completely new ones. We will partner with familiar and respected organizations, negotiating discounts and identifying service providers based on careful assessment and member satisfaction. We will also coordinate individual services and make it easy to get what you need by calling just one phone number. And it will provide opportunities for enhanced social activities and meaningful volunteerism.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts. If you would like to get involved in creating this innovative way of connecting people, resources and communities, please contact me at 909-621-9900 or by email at cssfloy@linkline.com. Or simply fill out and return the post card, which will ensure the anonymity of your survey.
To help us move forward in our planning, please return the paper survey in the postage-free envelope or complete the survey here at your earliest convenience. To complete the survey online, click "Next" at the bottom of this web page.
Many thanks,
