Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) Survey |
Background: Purley War Memorial Hospital re-opened after comprehensive refurbishment in July 2013. Generally, the feedback on the services delivered there (including physiotherapy, audiology, ophthalmology, diagnostic testing, some cancer services and a GP practice) has been very good. There was also an Urgent Care Centre, open 8am-8pm, which offered treatment for injuries and illnesses requiring immediate attention but not serious enough to for full A&E. On 1st May 2014, this facility was downgraded to a Minor Injury Unit (dealing only with the least serious injuries), the X-Ray service was removed for MIU patients - even though there is an X-Ray facility just over the corridor – and the opening hours cut to 2pm-8pm.
