The Phoenix Award recognizes those chapters that have taken significant action to improve their overall level of effectiveness in chapter management and programming as defined by chapter model expectations. To be considered for this award, a chapter must document areas of chapter operation that required improvement, steps taken to accomplish change, and how the chapter demonstrated improvement to meet or exceed the criteria for their selected chapter model. Award applications are due May 15, 2011. The inaugural Phoenix Award will be presented at the Centennial Convocation in Indianapolis to all chapters that qualify.
Entry Rules
1. All requested information on the application must be completed in full.
2. All entries must be received at KDP Headquarters by May 15, 2011. Late applications will not be accepted.
3. Portions of winning Phoenix Award applications may be used by the Society for training, recognition, or marketing purposes.
4. Applying chapters must have a charter date on or before July 1, 2009.
5. Current or previous Initiation-Only chapters can receive the award if the chapter has recently been reinstated from suspension or probation. Initiation-Only chapters with significant increases in programming, membership, retention, or other Phoenix Award requirements will not be considered for the award.
