Weather Decision-Making for Schools

Survey Introduction

Living in Oklahoma we have to be prepared for any hazardous weather situation that may arise while school is in session such as an approaching tornado or wildfire. These situations are the focus of this survey.

This short survey is being administered by the Oklahoma Climatological Survey and the Oklahoma Mesonet throughout the state to learn more about weather-related decision making processes and is intended for K-12 school employees (administrators, teachers, etc.) and emergency managers. The survey contains 10-12 questions depending on your position and should only take a couple minutes of your time.

The information collected here is being used to evaluate the need for a new outreach program involving weather preparedness for schools on hazardous weather days. A potential program could include professional development opportunities offered to school employees on weather hazards, weather safety, trustworthy sources of weather information, basic weather radar interpretation, and other weather preparedness items.
