The Distinguished Service Award is given to members of the Society who have contributed significant and sustained service to at least one element (normally a Group) in the SCI structure for an aggregate of ten years or more. The length of service, the offices held and the nature of the contribution will all be taken into account.
Who Can Nominate?
Any member of SCI or the staff may make a nomination by completing a nomination form and sending it to the designated member of staff. Members of the Board, major committees and Groups are particularly invited to do so.
Decision Process:
MAC will consider the nominations and make recommendations to BoT, for ratification Normally a maximum of three DSAs will be awarded in any one year.
Nominations can be submitted at any time during the year but will only be considered once a year.
The decision is final.
The Board reserves the right not to make an award if there are no suitable candidates.
Conferment:
A certificate will be prepared, signed by the Executive Director and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
