The Peoria City Council is considering making an offer to the LST Ship Memorial Foundation to relocate the LST 325, a historic World War II navy ship, from Evansville to Peoria. Two potential docking locations along the downtown river front are being considered: in front of the "River Station" building or between I-74 and the RiverPlex. Staff estimates the cost of the dock at $1.5 million, but is seeking outside funding that would cover at least half that cost. The on-going cost to the City is estimated at about $50,000 per year. More information can be found at www.facebook.com/LSTPeoria and www.lstmemorial.org. Please take a moment to answer a few questions that will help the City Council gauge your interest in this project.
