1. OVYM Survey- Part One. WHO ARE YOU?
This survey will only be used to generate discussion. Nothing more and nothing less. WE would like input from EVERYONE in Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting. The data and responses collected will form the groundwork for a VISIONING process we hope to begin with the Yearly Meeting. WE hope to collect over 800 responses from people who are part of our monthly meeting communities. This will be rather nifty. This might provide us with one of the most complete snapshots of Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting we have ever had!
"WE" are the Advancement and Nurture Committee of Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting. Responses will not require your name- so everything is also confidential. Respond and write your Truths for this Survey. Anyone can access the "results" of the survey in real time. You will be given the key to go to the Surveymonkey website and check results. One of the more intriguing ways to organize the data will be to separate out responses from your own monthly meeting.
If you are 3 years old or if you are 96 years old, if you are weighty Friend or a light-weight Friend, if you need help taking the survey or if you can do it by yourself--- this survey is for you! You are welcome if you have only attended a couple meetings for worship and still feel basically like a visitor.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION- At certain places in the survey, your response will automatically take you to a different question. For example, if you respond that you are 11-14 years old, then you will be directed to the section of questions for middle youth (11-14 years old).
Also, if an * appears before a question, it means you are required to answer the question. Computers have infinite patience!
So, let's have some fun while generating some data. It is a long standing Quaker tradition that we don't like to be boxed in by multiple choice questions. OOPS, so we will leave you spaces to explain yourself if the choices ruffle your feathers. TRY to give us a provided response that best describes your feeling, and then launch into your open ended explanation if you feel the need to explain your response more fully.
The first part of the survey is a demographic and informational foray, and the second part is getting some feedback on things that concern all of us. Finally there is an open response section for those who feel energetic and want to help bring this collage of OVYM Quakerism into a fuller focus. All written responses will be published in a pdf file for wide viewing, and any themes that seem to emerge will be spotlighted by A&N in a report at the end of the survey period- a good guess for the report would be early February.
