About This Survey

With the approval in September 2009 of Forensic Psychiatry as a subspecialty of Psychiatry, the subspecialty subcommittee of the Royal College has been working on psychiatrists’ accreditation, credentialing and evaluation standards. Once these specialty specific documents are developed and approved by the Royal College, the process of credentialing of individual psychiatrist will then commence.

In preparation for this process, the Integrated Forensic Program of Royal Ottawa Health Care Group in collaboration Forensic Psychiatry Division, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, is finalizing the “Royal Forensic Seminar Series (RFSS)”. This program is designed to provide comprehensive forensic psychiatry education and self-assessment of professional skills for practicing psychiatrists.

RFSS seeks to promote lifelong learning through seminars and self-assessment of core competencies in the theory and practice of forensic psychiatry. At the Royal we are very excited to be involved in this project and we will like you to assist us in designing a program that addresses your educational needs as we become your partner in the lifelong journey of learning by participating in this needs survey.
