Did you know that Lakes Country Service Cooperative (LCSC) has received a Minnesota Department of Agriculture grant to explore the feasibility of developing a regional food hub? This new program will buy and aggregate locally-grown produce and food products and sell them in LCSC’s nine-county region. We want to make it easy to use locally grown, healthy foods in your foodservice operation. The food hub operation will start in the late summer of 2014, delivering local produce to area school districts. We plan to expand in 2015 to include other institutions such as hospitals, nursing homes, senior nutrition centers, correctional facilities, and childcare centers.

To help build a food hub in our region, we need to know more about what will work for you. This survey will help us determine interest, potential demand for fresh, local foods, and better understand preferences among users which may be served by a regional food hub. This is only a survey and your responses are not binding in any way.

The survey will be open through Friday, April 4, 2014. You may skip questions that do not pertain to your operation.

Contact Dana Rieth at 218-737-6553 or drieth@lcsc.org with any questions.

Thank you for your participation.
