This is the tryout information and registration form for the LGUSL GU12 teams (Los Gatos Spirit and Los Gatos Fury) for the Spring and Fall 2012 seasons. Both teams play in the CYSA-N California Soccer League Coast Spring and Fall seasons.

The Los Gatos Spirit is currently tied for 2nd Silver A Bracket (the top bracket for CYSA-N teams from San Francisco south to San Benito and Montery). The Los Gatos Fury is currently 2nd in the Bronze B bracket.

This will be the 4th year of competitive soccer for the Spirit. For more information about the Spirit, visit http://losgatosspirit.teamsnap.com

Please read all information. This form MUST be completed in its entirety on-line in order to participate in tryouts.

Players may choose one of three options:

1) Tryout for both Spirit and Fury (1st choice Spirit; 2nd choice Fury)
2) Tryout only for the Spirit
3) Tryout only for the Fury

Players selecting option #1 should understand that the Los Gatos Spirit will select players first, followed by the Los Gatos Fury.

Players selecting #1 have a preference to make the Spirit and intend to accept an invitation from the Spirit if selected. However, if not selected for the Spirit, would strongly consider a position on the Fury.

Players selecting #2 prefer to only tryout for the Spirit

Tryouts are scheduled at Fisher Middle School on:

Sunday, 12/4 (1-3 pm),
Saturday, 12/17 (11 am -1 pm),
Sunday, 12/18 (11 am - 1 pm)

All players available trying out for either team should attend the 12/4 session. Coaches from both teams will be attending, along with independent evaluators. The session will be run by a neutral coach.

As some people have conflicts with the weekend sessions, there are also weekday sessions:

Wed, Dec 7 – Fury Specific (3:30-5pm)
Mon, Dec 12 – Combined (3:30-5pm)
Wed, Dec 14 – Spirit Specific (3:30-5pm)

Players should make the effort to attend the 12/17 and/or 12/18 session, and/or one or more of the weekeday sessions (as appropriate)

Here's an example scenario -- an existing Los Gatos Fury player is only interested in tryout out for the Fury and would prefer to stay with her team. She does not need to attend the 12/18 Spirit session.

It is quite likely that additional weekday sessions will be held between 12/4 and 12/17 to accomodate potential players who have conflicts for the existing dates. These are yet to be scheduled.

Specific fields, dates, and times for those sessions will be announced later.

In the case of weather-related cancellation, email addresses provided through this registration form will be used to contact all players registered.

Please arrive 15 minutes before each tryout session to check-in.

Coaches and independent evaluators will be on-hand to assess those players who attend tryouts (either returning players or new players looking for a spot).

The maximum roster size for U12 for the Fall 2012 season is 18 players, although it is possible that fewer will be selected in these tryouts (LGSUL requires that a minimum of 12 players be selected). Currently, both teams are carrying far fewer players (13 and 14, respectively), so will definitely be adding additional players (even if all existing players stay). Teams may offer spots to players to participate in any or all of trainings, tournaments, an indoor session, and the spring season (where the roster limits do not apply).
