Introduction: The GW Green Sports Scorecard is a voluntary assessment tool to help sport entities (e.g., organizations, teams, events, and facilities from youth to professional) determine their respective environmental profiles, how they compare with similar entities, and how they can improve their environmental practices over time.

Objectives: 1) To increase awareness among sport entities about the importance of implementing environmental initiatives; 2) To identify areas in which sport entities are either excelling or need improvement, in terms of environmental policies and practices; 3) To illustrate ways in which environmental efforts can be augmented and provide incentive to take action; and , 4) To recognize, through an awards program, those sport entities who are pro- active in reducing their environmental impacts and in setting examples for others.

Instructions: This voluntary assessment covers various environmental categories, ranging from organizational values to event logistics; therefore, not all sections will apply to each entity and the assessment may require more than one member of an organization, as well as vendors, to complete. Please respond to all sections that relate to your entity. Feel free to use the “additional comments” area in each section to provide clarification or to describe initiatives not included. This survey is designed to identify the extent to which your organization is implementing various environmental practices.

All scores and reports are confidential unless otherwise authorized. Note: The term stakeholder, in this assessment, refers to sport sponsors, fans, media, vendors, and others impacted by your sport entity.
